Tharangani R.W Perera
My research interest in veterinary science first began during my undergraduate days studying a Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Sciences at University of Peradeniya, which led to my continued passion undertaking a Master of Philosophy in Aquaculture viral disease (WSSV) at the same university. This passion led to my undertaking of a PhD at the University of Newcastle under the tutelage of Dr. Aleona Swegen. My current research aims to identify early pregnancy biomarkers in the plasma of mares using cutting edge proteomic approaches, ultimately to develop an on-farm, robust test for early pregnancy diagnosis.
