Nikhilesh Bappoo

Nik Bappoo is a PhD Candidate at the Vascular Engineering Laboratory (VascLab) based at the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research and the School of Engineering at UWA. Nik is a biomedical engineer with a strong interest in the placental origins of adult disease. He has worked with Dr Caitlin Wyrwoll and Associate Professor Barry Doyle since 2016 with a large focus on feto-placental vascular structure and blood flow modelling in health and disease. Nik’s work has been well been well received by the field and in 2017, Nik won the prestigious international Mimics Innovation Award. Nik is also budding entrepreneur academic with a passion to solve unmet clinical needs and has founded and is developing medical technologies, in vascular access and obstetric fields.
