Julie A Pasco

Julie Pasco is Professor of Epidemiology at Deakin University, situated at Barwon Health. She is the Director of the Epi-Centre for Healthy Ageing, Deputy Director of the IMPACT Strategic Research Centre and IMPACT Institute Theme Leader (Population and Epidemiological Analyses). Professor Pasco is an epidemiologist, with a background in biochemistry and physiology. Her population-based research focuses on understanding the progression of chronic metabolic and musculoskeletal disorders and the nexus between physical and mental health. She leads several population-based studies including the long running Geelong Osteoporosis Study (GOS), the Vitamin D in Pregnancy (VIP) study and the Ageing Chronic Disease and Injury (ACDI) study. An important component of her research is to facilitate knowledge transfer from research into practice and into the community
