Jane Girling
Jane Girling is a researcher working in the Department of Anatomy at the University of Otago. She joined the Department after nearly 20 years working in Australia, most recently as a Senior Research Fellow in the Gynaecology Research Centre at the University of Melbourne and Royal Women’s Hospital. Her research interests are in uterine biology and women’s health, with a particular focus on the common gynaecological disease endometriosis. In collaborative research with colleagues in Australia, she is examining the metabolic profile and lesion phenotype in those with endometriosis with the goal of identifying characteristics that may assist clinicians with treatment decisions. Jane also has an interest in the impact of menstrual pain and heavy bleeding on individuals and their families, and how we can better assist young women to live a full and happy life.
